Supervisor, Production - (3rd shift/Graveyard - Ogden, UT)

We are currently seeking a Production Supervisor to lead our teams at our frozen vegetable processing facility in Ogden, UT. This position would be responsible for supervising our production and sanitation employees and indirectly supervise warehouse and maintenance operations as needed.  They will coordinate with the Production Manager regarding production levels and collaborate with the management team to ensure effective overall plant operations.

This position will be expected to fill our 3rd shift (Graveyard shift), working approximately 10 p.m - 6:30 a.m.

Responsibilities

1. Provide staff training, evaluate staff performance, and implement and enforce all policies and procedures as directed.
2. Coordinate between Production and Warehouse to meet forklift and operator requirements.
3. Report all accidents and injuries and complete accident and/or incident reports as required, and ensure drug tests are administered.
4. Ensure Forklift Operators perform daily forklift checklist procedures.
5. Check the Q.A. paperwork for compliance with established procedures.
6. Annotate any down time on baggers, cause of the down time, and corrective actions. Ensure appropriate work orders are generated as needed.
7. Work with PKMS, coordinate product usage, and resolve problems with product for the Production and Warehouse Department.
8. Conduct food safety and personnel safety training.
9. Maintain Forklift Certification and operate FL equipment as necessary.
10. Maintain a thorough understanding of the different positions associated with Production and oversee necessary training.
11. Resolve employee grievances and submit unsettled grievances to Human Resources Manager for action.
12. Train, conduct and record necessary training on assigned shift.
13. Conduct performance appraisals with employees.
14. Conduct, maintain and champion all safety and GMP policies and procedures;
15. Maintain regular and consistent attendance.
16. Follow all Company policies and procedures, which include SOP’s, Employee Handbook, Food Safety and Quality Procedures, Food Quality Policies, GMP Handbook, HACCP, and Pictsweet Safety Procedures.
17. Perform all other duties as assigned.
18. Ensure production accomplishes assigned workload.  Spot check Machine Operators paperwork to ensure they are operating at established standards.
19. Inspect repack, warehouse, maintenance and dry warehouse areas as well to ensure everything is orderly, clean and organized.
20. Oversite of sanitation crew, including chemical application for sanitation processes and equipment cleaning.

• Bachelor's Degree preferred (four-year College or University)
• Must possess excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Familiarity and proficiency with computers including email, spreadsheets, word processing, database, warehousing software products, etc.
• Must be able to communicate effectively, both written and verbally.
• Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and  maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all measures using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
• Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent to draw and interpret bar graphs.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
