Overview

The Pictsweet Company is growing! We are currently seeking a Community Development Manager for our Tennessee Operations.  This position will lead recruiting for all hourly and salaried associates in our processing, warehouse and agriculture facilities/operations in Tennessee. The Community Development Manager will partner with functional leaders to anticipate and meet the needs of The Pictsweet Company and to deliver the best talent to the organization. This role will lead the Tennessee Operations Recruiting Team to build and nurture relationships with our local community as well as strategic recruiting partnerships with high schools, technical schools, colleges & universities. The position will work closely with the Director, Eastern Operations & Vice President, Human Resources to develop strategic HR initiatives and programs to support the long term business strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Manage full cycle recruiting process to meet the various staffing goals for hourly and salaried associates. Create and implement strategies to attract passive job seekers.
  • Manage Pictsweet Hiring Center and staff to facilitate recruiting, application process, assessments, interviews, job offers and onboarding. Establish metrics and report on the team’s performance regularly.
  • Work with hiring managers and interview teams to ensure job requirements and expectations are clearly understood and candidates are reviewed & assessed appropriately.
  • Develop strong relationships and partner with hiring managers, business leaders and HR to maximize effectiveness and timeliness of recruiting process.
  • Actively participate in all staffing related activities and engage in cross functional projects including updating job descriptions.
  • Manage the recruiting and selection activities of the company to employ external salaried positions (managers, professionals, technicians, and support staff).
  • Coordinate and attend college campus career fairs and other campus events with the objective of hiring and building the Pictsweet employment brand among college students.
  • Build & manage recruiting relationships with local community, high schools, technical schools, colleges & universities (i.e. awareness of needs and fit to culture).
  • Explore new platforms to supplement search activities. All recruiting platforms will prioritize searches for local area candidates then regional and national as needed.
  • Lead the “candidate experience”, whereby the process and candidate expectations concerning timing, interviews, and travel are described and managed. Supervises interviewing, assessments, and hiring process to ensure adherence to all government compliance requirements.  Maintains necessary files covering applications, interviews, and testing procedures.
  • Coordinates candidate offer information (salary recommendation, interview team feedback, assessments, etc.). Makes verbal offer, authors offer letter, and determines employment date and onboarding activities.  Manages background and reference verification and drug screen process through third party vendor.  Contacts internal resources for office, computer and building access.
  • Coordinates the relocation process with the relocation vendor. Approves expense and reimbursement in adherence to the relocation policy.  Serves as liaison between relocation vendor and employee for guidance on policy.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business or related field of study.
  • MBA or MS in HR or related field a plus but not required.
  • 5 - 7 years of staffing/recruitment/generalist experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong understanding and ability to recruit for all levels of the organization from entry level to professional staff
  • Experience sourcing candidates using traditional as well as creative approaches and developing strategies to ensure quality & quantities of candidates are attracted
  • Hands-on experience with Applicant Tracking Systems and HR databases
  • Excellent inter-personal communication and interviewing skills
  • Experience leading a team, developing direct reports and modeling a positive culture with internal staff and external candidates and partners
  • Good computer skills including Microsoft Office and other data base programs
