Overview

The Pictsweet Company is growing! We are currently seeking a Vice President, Foodservice Sales to join our leadership team at the company headquarters in Bells, TN.  Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing for the Foodservice Business Unit, the Vice President, Foodservice Sales will lead an acceleration of business performance across all market segments in the channel, creating breakthrough Customer partnerships, growing market share for assigned categories, elevating Sales capabilities, and ensuring profitable growth for The Pictsweet Company.

Responsibilities

  • Drive for Results – Act as champion for the organization in consistently delivering assigned metrics for volume, net sales, share, and revenue growth management KPIs.
  • Channel Strategy & Customer Prioritization –
    • Develop strategies and performance metrics for key segments and customer groups.  Identify and develop new business opportunities and relationships which results in the achievement of increased revenue and profitability.
    • Segment the universe of customers into optimal books of business to build a sustainable market coverage model, incorporating fact based and strategic insights to assess gold/silver/bronze classification and corresponding resources.
  • Customer Engagement - Build positive relationships with strategic customers across the enterprise (Merchandising, Sourcing, Marketing, etc) to create long term value and new business opportunity. 
  • Category Development - Work with Distributor partners to craft compelling category leadership plans that drive value growth in alignment with Business Unit objectives.
  • Field Execution - Drive best in class execution at field level through performance management mindset of Pictsweet regional sales team and Agency (broker) partners. Responsibilities include advising on overall broker and route to market strategy, agency partner selection and management.
  • Revenue Management - Lead Foodservice Sales team to achieve the best and most profitable sales opportunities in the marketplace.  Build structured approaches with Marketing & Finance to identifying revenue opportunities on pricing, trade, and upsell/cross-sell initiatives.
  • Talent Development - Lead the recruitment, motivation and development of professionals who can deliver sustained revenue growth.  Instill a culture of accountability, empowerment, performance and teamwork to achieve the goals of the organization.
  • Operational Excellence – Ensure alignment of business performance with cross-functional partners through participation in Integrated Business Planning/ Sales & Operations cycle, Sales Business Planning, and Management forums. Act as the Customer expert in multi-year strategic planning and development of annual operating plans.

Qualifications

  • 4 year university degree (MBA preferred)
  • 10+ years of progressively senior commercial roles in top-tier, branded and value-add portfolios.
  • Extensive foodservice industry knowledge, with Direct, Broker, and Hybrid sales management experience required.
  • An overwhelming commitment to win and drive results through a strong customer orientation
  • Strong sales planning skills and experience with enterprise CRM systems
  • Strong understanding of category management and merchandising techniques consistent with having led a field/channel sales organization.
  • Ability to bring outstanding interpersonal skills (with excellent oral and written communication), strong intellect and problem solving skills to any discussion with colleagues and/or customers.
  • A track record of leading and developing next talent for broader roles and responsibility
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to manage a large geographical territory.  
  • Requires willingness to work a flexible schedule and regular overnight travel.
