Reporting to the Vice President of Sales for the Foodservice Division, the Regional Sales Manager – South West will lead an acceleration of business performance in total and for the Pictsweet brand across all segments of the assigned market, creating breakthrough Customer partnerships, growing market share for assigned categories, and ensuring profitable growth for the Pictsweet Foodservice Business Unit.  This critical role will lead Pictsweet Foodservice sales brokerage agencies and work directly with gold tier distributors and operators in the assigned region.

Responsibilities

  • Drive for Results – Manage and execute business plans to consistently deliver volume and net sales targets, as well as annual Key Performance Indicator (KPIs) objectives covering direct and broker selling efforts.
  • Market Planning & Customer Prioritization –
    • Segment customer touchpoints in the region into optimal books of business to build a sustainable market coverage model, incorporating fact based and strategic insights to assess gold/silver/bronze classification and corresponding resources.
    • Grow the Pictsweet brand via strategies and business plans for assigned customer base that align Pictsweet Foodservice Division objectives with selling, promotion, and business development activity with identified target opportunities.
  • Customer Engagement – Measurably improve the strength of relationships with strategic customers across the Region to create long term value and new business opportunity for the Pictsweet brand. 
  • Category Development - Work with Pictsweet Marketing to craft compelling total category growth plans that drive value-add growth of the Pictsweet brand for Distributor Partners and Operators in alignment with Pictsweet Foodservice Business Unit objectives.
  • Field Execution – Actively engage with Broker Agencies and Distributor community in the market to create a vibrant presence. Types of gold standard execution will include distributor food shows & industry trade events, broker sales meetings and trainings, culinary ideations, and promotion of Pictsweet Foodservice portfolio through local marketing calendars.
  • Revenue Management – Drive to achieve the most profitable sales opportunities in the marketplace.  Build structured approaches with Marketing, Operations & Finance to identifying revenue opportunities on pricing, trade, and upsell/cross-sell initiatives. Maximize revenue of new business opportunities with fact based, market centric pricing intelligence.
  • Talent Development – Show a commitment to growth and skill development, for self and for broker sales reps. Instill a culture of accountability, performance and teamwork to achieve the goals of Pictsweet Foodservice.
  • Operational Excellence – Ensure alignment of business performance with cross-functional partners through participation in Integrated Business Planning/ Sales & Operations cycle, Sales Business Planning, and Management forums.  Responsibilities include demand forecasting, management of T&E budgets, and building of customer files and opportunity pipeline in CRM type system.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited College/University
  • Minimum 5 years foodservice industry sales experience.
  • Foodservice industry knowledge.
  • Broker management experience required.
  • Personal characteristics should include; a strong work ethic, the willingness and capability to be a self-starter, the ability to make informed, independent judgments, strong interpersonal skills, negotiating and communication at all levels of an organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and lead a team or small group of people.
  • Computer skills must include: Microsoft Office Suite - Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Work requires significant travel to current and potential clients. This requires the possession of a valid state driver’s license.
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to manage a large geographical territory requires willingness to work a flexible schedule and regular overnight travel.
