Overview

The Pictsweet Company is growing! We are currently seeking Project Engineers to join our corporate engineering team in Bells, TN. The Corporate Project Engineer will manage capital & special repair projects, assist with regulatory compliance issues, and provide technical support to Pictsweet's vegetable processing facilities.

Responsibilities

Capital & Repair Projects – Planning and Design

  • Develop project concepts and performance specifications
  • Develop general arrangements, layouts and schematic design
  • Perform detailed design of food processing, packaging, steam, water, refrigeration, and material handling systems
  • Perform schematic design of electrical and controls systems
  • Develop project management plans

Capital & Repair Projects – Execution

  • Draft and/or review EJCDC and AIA construction contract documents
  • Manage contractors, equipment vendors, transportation, and material procurement
  • Manage project schedule and costs
  • Review submittals, change orders, and certification for payment request
  • Ensure all quality standards are met
  • Maintain project documentation

Technical Support

  • Provide technical support to all facilities in the areas of refrigeration, processing, packaging, controls, and utility systems
  • Assist all plants with regulatory requirements such as PSM, RMP, and life safety compliance
  • Maintain knowledge of current trends in equipment, materials, technologies, etc applicable to our industry
  • Provide support to other engineering projects as needed

Qualifications

  • BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited institution
  • 3.25 overall GPA
  • Firm understanding of the fundamentals of refrigeration, heat transfer, fluid mechanics, machine design, materials, and mechanics of materials
  • Ability to effectively communicate engineering designs and concepts through sketches, drawings, and written documents
  • Experience preferred, particularly in ammonia industrial refrigeration, food plant/sanitary designs, and plant engineering
